Quick Projects « Stamping Art

The clear block stamping technique is a fun and quick way to create an interesting background or uniquely colored paper. I lightly tapped a Stampin’ Up! clear block directly on the ink pad, “stamped” my paper, and punched out three hearts with the Full Heart Punch. You will get a bolder appearance by layering several colors or a softer look by stamping the block off once on a piece of scratch paper. I saw this idea on Kimberly Van Diepen’s website, Stampin’ by the Sea, and couldn’t wait to make some of my own. I was thrilled to find another use for the beautiful fabrics available from Stampin’ Up! The frames and batting were purchased at our local craft store. After removing the glass and back of the frame, I replaced the cardboard insert with a same size piece of chipboard and used it as a base for the pin cushion. I cut the fabric just slightly larger than the chipboard, placed batting between the fabric and chipboard, and pushed it through the frame opening. I adjusted the placement of the fabric by pulling from the back. The fabric was adhered to the back of the chipboard with tape. A hot glue gun would work as well. Once I replaced the back of the frame, my pin cushion was complete. A quick and easy project!
